Welcome to the Rushcliffe Dementia Action Network (RDAN)
We are a network of local groups, organisations, services and volunteers, working together to improve the support for people living with dementia and their carers in the Rushcliffe area.
Our approach is all about building strong partnerships.
Together we are identifying opportunities to help people live well with dementia.
In October 2024, we became a charity, which allows us to be more sustainable and raise funds to make a positive impact.
Dementia and Carers Roadshow
Every year around springtime, RDAN hosts a Dementia and Carers Roadshow.
The aim of this event is to bring together the wide range of support available for people living with dementia and their carers, all under one roof.

Green Memory Cafe
“Gentle nature-based activities, following the seasons, short walks and a chance to socialise”
Every 2 months on Wednesday afternoon, based at Rushcliffe Country Park NG11 6JS.

Local Initiatives
We have many network members, and together we can support each other and promote local initiatives.
The main aims of RDAN as a charity are:
To relieve the needs of those with dementia and their families/carers in the Rushcliffe community, primarily but not exclusively, through:
Ensuring they have access to the support, information, and knowledge needed to minimise the challenges of dementia.
Fundraising
We don’t want our charity to be focussed on fundraising, but we do recognise that a small amount of money is vital to help fulfil our main activities. If you want to support our work you can make a donation by clicking the button below.
Our network supports The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a simple way for you to let others know that you have a disability or condition that may not be immediately apparent. It highlights that you may need a helping hand, understanding and patience, and more time in shops, at work, on transport, or in public spaces.
Sunflower lanyards have become a popular way for people and organisations to spot if someone has a non-visible disability, such as dementia. Many businesses are beginning to sign up to this initiative so staff are aware of the Sunflower lanyard. You can also pop into the Rushcliffe Borough Council Customer Support Desk at WB Library and ask for a lanyard or purchase you own HERE.
